Description: Color:Deep ruby red. Aroma : A combination of red and black fruit notes are enhanced by the underlying savory characteristics that are synonymous with Syrah. There are subtle hints of cedar and leather, as well as a touch of pomegranate that forms an all-round elegant, complex nose. Palate : The fruit from the nose shows fantastic follow-through, and is well integrated with the elegant savory flavors. This wine shows good length, with a good, grainy tannin structure. Rich mulberry fruit gives way to a long, smooth, juicy finish.
Production: The three cultivars were vinified separately. Fermentation took place in open top fermentors and was followed by a maceration period of 14 days after primary fermentation. The Syrah and Mourvdre were matured separately in 100% new French and American oak for 18 months. The Grenache is unoaked to preserve its natural fruit character. Malolactic fermentation took place in the barrels.
Food Combination: Sausages, lamb with rosemary, spicy dishes like curries, red meat., hard and soft cheeses.
