Description: Chasselas is a grape variety very particular to Switzerland and is the main grape grows in the Vaud, soft yet complex these wines produce a unique taste that some would describe as somewhat oily but yet the freshness of the Chasselas comes through and you can smell hints of grass. With its very defined nose, power and length of palate this wine has both complexity and subtly all rolled into one ( very Swiss in character).
Production: This wonderful example of Swiss wine comes from the UNESCO heritage region of Lavaux which is located in the stunning Swiss canton of Vaud. Union Vinicole is able to produce some of the most outstanding examples of Grand Cru Chasselas produced in Switzerland. Most of the grapes are handpicked and come from very small vineyard allotments.
Food Combination: Aperitif, appetizer, white meats, lamb, veal, fish, cheeses, as well as dishes based on cheese, quenelle.
