Description: The vines average 35 years of age. Production :2700 bottles a year. Color : intense red with purple reflexions. Nose : very complex, with flower notes (peony), black fruits and scents of woodland undergrowth . On the palate, very rich, sweet mouth, with very round tannins, intense combining elegance and delicacy. A long finish in the mouth and long aging potential

Production: Wine making :The vines average 35 years of age and are a special selection of Pinot Noir which produce small clusters. Soil :This is a clay-limestone topsoil, quite pebbly, over a limestone subsoil (compact Bathonian limestone).Located in the upper part of the Clos de Vougeot, this parcel is certainly one of the most notable of this famous vineyard. A gentle slope faces east to the rising sun .Vinification: The grapes are picked by hand, then sorted, crushed and completely destemmed. Fermentation is started rapidly without prefermentation maceration. Punchingdown, there are no added enzymes or forced heating extraction. Vatting time lasts from 12 to 14 days, then the free-run wine and the first pressing are blended, settled cold, and put in barrels for maturing. Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is matured in oak barrels, 50 % of which are new oak with various origins : the forest of Bertranges – racy but discreet ; Tronçais – more aromatic, and Nevers. The wine is matured from 15 to 18 months, and then bottled without fining and with a very slight filtration.

Food Combination: Red meat, roasted or fried duck, game, game birds such as guinea fowl, ripe cheeses like Camember/Brillat Savarin, Cîteaux, Epoisse, Peking duck
